There has been a noticeable increase in buyers wanting to purchase the precious metal, possibly due to bargain-hunting, and gold closed at $1491.60 in New York Friday. For gold to rise while silver is falling is very unusual; it is widely felt by market analysts that silver has been more severely affected by recent events and that gold will outperform silver in the coming weeks.
